Thanks for all the wonderful donations of hats, mittens, and scarves before Christmas. Many of these items went to Iglesia Esperanza, to assist families who are taking refuge here from Puerto Rico after the devastating hurricanes. We just received word from several local Easton agencies that they are still desperate need of these items as well. Even though the temps have risen a bit, it is still cold out there. For the next week, we’ll collect these items and get them to the appropriate places ASAP. You can bring the items to church anytime, and we’ll collect them through this coming Sunday at worship.
Our mission of the month is Slate Belt Common Ground, a ministry that our former student pastor, Mark Newman, has helped to start. It is a food pantry, clothing bank, community garden, back pack program, and more, serving the Slate Belt area. Our financial contributions this month will go toward their operation; they are also in need of canned chicken, canned tuna, and small plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly. These items can also be dropped off at church anytime.
And last but never least, our own Rebecca’s Pantry and ProJeCt food pantry are in need of restocking, especially for these harsh Winter months. Non-perishable food items for Rebecca’s Pantry and peanut butter and jelly for ProJeCt would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone for another great year of collecting over a thousand jars of peanut butter and jelly!!
