God’s people at Palmer, Glad Greetings in the joy Jesus gives!
Enthusiasm and hope fill me as I prepare to arrive as your pastor in September. My wonder-wife, the Rev. Christine Sobania Johnson and I met at MTS (Moravian Theological Seminary) and were married in 1988 just months ahead of our ordinations. We have two not-quite-fully-launched sons, Andrew 27 and Dan 23. I enjoy singing, exercise, reading, film, Church camp, and walks with Christine and sports. I believe that service is my calling and I’m delighted to do it. I have one older sister, one older brother and a 100 year old mother, Dorothy. My Dad, Dale, went to glory in 1990. My faith was formed at my home church, the Sharon Moravian congregation here in Tuscarawas county, Ohio. I take each day as a gift.
I grew up in Ohio (in The Tuscarawas Valley). My undergraduate degree is from Muskingum University and I have served 6 Moravian congregations in my 30 years of ordained ministry. Each day I look for what the Lord is doing and pray, “Good Shepherd, please show what you’re doing and how I can be a part of it.” I am an eternal optimist and I revel in laughter. I prize teamwork, cooperation and collaboration.
I can’t wait to meet you all as we journey together with Jesus, Who Still Leads On!
