Our Be The Church Committee has chosen homeless veterans to be our focus for October and November.
We will be partnering with VALOR for our community outreach project.
Veterans Assisted Living Out Reach VALOR was co-founded as a 501(c)3 in 2012 by Veterans Mark Baylis and Tony Cross as an organization for Veterans to help other Veterans navigate through the process of recovering and rebuilding. VALOR Clinic Foundation provides assistance accessing benefits, and shelter to Veterans with limited or no access to care. They also provide Post Traumatic Stress resources to Veterans through their “Veterans Unstoppable.” Valor strives to provide nationwide integrated medical care in the future.
Baylis and his team of committed volunteers have been reaching out to Veterans to provide shelter at Paul’s House in Kunkletown, PA, with food, supplies and access to healthcare.
As we strive to BE THE CHURCH we can volunteer our time at a local STAND DOWN which provides clothes, food, health checks, housing assistance and haircuts. This will be held at Safe Harbor on October 27 9:30 a.m.—11:00 a.m. We will help set up, distribute food and other items and then help tear down.
During October you can bring food items for Paul’s House from the following wish list:
- Canned fruits and vegetables with pull tabs
- Canned tuna, spam or beef stew with pull tabs
- Peanut butter in plastic jars
- Vegetable or fruit juice
