Meet our Palmer Moravian Church Staff:
Rev. Dr. Eileen Edwards
Pastor
Pastor Eileen wears many hats - spiritual leader, biblical interpreter, volunteer coordinator, Elder and Trustee Board wrangler, warm welcome extender, and more! She lives in Bethlehem with her spouse, and they are the proud parents of two adult sons. She has been serving as Palmer's Pastor since 2021, and in her free time loves to get together with friends, play games, read, and walk. Camping and hiking are a particular favorite pastime as it can include many of those favorite things mentioned above!
Her favorite thing about working at Palmer Moravian Church in her own words is, "I love that I get to work with the people of this church who are so warm and caring as we walk together through the ups and downs of life and figure out new ways to live out God's love in the church and in our community. I love that I get to do all different things from leading worship to blessing pets, to talking to people at community dinners or catching up over snacks after worship to giving glitter blessings at pride. I have the privilege of walking with people through some of the holiest moments of their lives. Can you tell that it's hard to pick just one favorite? "
Jan Harke
Minister of Music
Without Jan to help direct our beautifully chaotic worship into harmony, we'd be lost! As our Minister of Music, Jan leads us in worship through music, supporting and directing our music team, and handbell choir - plus much more! Beyond Palmer Moravian Church, she has served the Moravian community through her musical gifts and professional experience through work with the Provincial Women's Board and Moravian Music Foundation. She lives in Bethlehem, and has one adult daughter, and in her free time, loves to read, especially mysteries. She has served at Palmer since 1990, and shares that working with the handbell choir is one of her favorite parts of her job.
Kathy Sofie
Director of Christian Education
As our Director of Christian Education, Kathy helps lead and organize learning oppurtunities for folks of all ages! A resident of Bethlehem Township, she and her husband are the proud parents of two grown daughters and two pups. Kathy has been working at PMC since 2018, and in her free time loves baking, crafting, watching movies, and playing with Lizzie and Abbie, her dogs. Her favorite part of working at Palmer is that she gets to spend her time sharing her joy for God with all the children and adults in fun ways.
